Abstract

Teaching and learning vocabulary are crucial aspects of second language education. In ESL (English as a second language), various methods and strategies have been used. As flashcards are a simple visual aid that engage and motivate students to learn, it has been proven that flashcards are a notable and effective method to employ in teaching a second language. This research used a quantitative approach with experimental design. The data was collected by taking vocabulary quizzes before and after treatment. The research object was third and fourth graders in a primary school in Bostonlik region, Uzbekistan the research indicates the results of the tests and shows improvement between pre-test and pro-test.
