Abstract

Teaching lexicology in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes is essential for enhancing vocabulary acquisition and understanding word formation, semantics, and usage. This article examines the significance of lexicology, types of lexicological studies (word formation, semantics, phraseology), and effective methods for teaching them in EFL contexts. It emphasizes innovative strategies to overcome challenges in lexicological instruction and highlights the role of lexicology in developing communicative competence.
