Abstract

This study investigates the importance of fluency and accuracy in English Language Teaching (ELT) and their impact on successful language learning. Fluency pertains to a learner's ability to express ideas effortlessly and naturally, whereas accuracy involves the correct use of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The paper examines teaching strategies that balance these two aspects, taking into account learners' needs, objectives, and proficiency levels. It explores how emphasizing either fluency or accuracy influences language skills and provides methods for integrating both into classroom instruction. Furthermore, the research underscores the value of offering students opportunities to develop fluency through communicative practice while enhancing accuracy via corrective feedback and focused activities.
