MAIN ISSUES OF WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
This article examines the key challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, highlighting socio-cultural barriers, limited access to finance, legal and institutional obstacles, and a lack of entrepreneurial education. Despite several government initiatives aimed at promoting women’s entrepreneurship, these challenges continue to impede the full economic potential of women in the country. Social norms and gender biases contribute to the exclusion of women from business networks and financing opportunities. Legal frameworks and bureaucratic hurdles further complicate the process of starting and scaling businesses. Moreover, the absence of targeted educational programs prevents women from acquiring necessary entrepreneurial skills. The paper offers policy recommendations, such as gender-sensitive financial regulations, targeted educational programs, and institutional reforms, to foster an environment conducive to the growth of women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan.
