Abstract
This article explores and explains the essence of self-directed learning, its advantages and didactic foundations, substantiates its importance, and offers effective strategies for honing self-study competence. By reading this article, the reader will gain an understanding of the concept of autodidacticism, become acquainted with the main benefits of independent learning, and appreciate the importance of curiosity in the educational process. The reader will also learn a structured approach to studying and discover how to use various resources effectively. Furthermore, the article provides guidance on creating a conducive learning environment, maintaining discipline, and understanding the role that community plays in the learning process
