THE IMPORTANCE OF AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS IN LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

In the contemporary era, with the advent of new technologies learning process is more straightforward and no longer complex to integrate with different languages for both educators and students. For this reason there is a growing tendency towards using audio-visual tools  -  instructional devices  in which the message can be heard and seen simultaneously  (AV aids)  during study journey.  It is highly recommended to use AV within learning because of certain benefits including enriching vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation and student engagement. This article focuses on learners’ attitudes and perceptions about audio-visual materials. The results show that it is an efficient method to improve general language learning. Meanwhile they said that a coordinated learning approach, combining both conventional and modern techniques, could be the most effective strategy for gaining knowledge.
