USING SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE ENGLISH LEARNING PROCESS

The collaboration of social media into the English learning process is significant in contemporary education.This article aims to explore benefits and challenges of using social media platforms for enhancing language and how it effects learning other languages. Utilizing social media platforms in learning process expanded during COVID-19 pandemic, because teachers and students were unable to attend face to face classes, so it involved learning by using social media. By analyzing different social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, the research highlights their potential to promote learning, improve communication skills, and provide an opportunity to use your language ability with native people in social platforms.The article also discusses position of social media in encouraging learners and facilitating cultural exchange. Moreover, research explores some challenges which comes up using social media in learning process. Nowadays there are differents sites and channels for improve English language and it is difficult that finding reliable and efficient channels. Therefore, this article states some credible sites for English learner . The findings suggest that, when social media is used appropriately, it can be effective and engaging tool for English learners, and also it offers diverse opportunities for language practice with native people.
