Abstract

The concept of learning styles has gained substantial traction in the field of education and is commonly seen across a wide range of educational levels, from nursery to postgraduate studies. There exists a thriving market dedicated to the publication of learning-styles assessments and resources for educators, and numerous organizations provide professional development workshops focused on the learning styles framework for teachers and education professionals. The authors of this review were tasked with assessing whether these practices are backed by scientific research. Our conclusion is that any strong validation of instruction based on learning styles necessitates comprehensive evidence of a specific type of experimental result that meets several critical criteria. Initially, students must be grouped according to their learning styles, and subsequently, students from each group should be randomly assigned to receive.
