Abstract

This article explores strategies for developing grammar skills among 9th and 11th English learners, with a specific focus on Uzbek-speaking students. It examines foundational teaching approaches—explicit instruction, implicit learning, and communicative grammar teaching—that support intermediate learners as they navigate complex grammar structures. Emphasis is placed on integrating grammar in meaningful speaking and writing activities, where students apply language in real-world contexts to enhance both fluency and accuracy. Additionally, the article addresses the challenges of mixed-ability classrooms and student anxiety, proposing strategies to maintain engagement and create a supportive learning environment. By combining effective methods with practical techniques for classroom integration, this article provides a framework that promotes both grammar retention and overall language competency among students in grades 9-11.
