Abstract

The study of human names, or anthroponymy, is a crucial area in linguistic research, as names carry deep cultural, historical, and social meanings. This paper examines the semantic and structural features of human names in English and Uzbek languages, focusing on their linguistic formation, etymology, and socio-cultural implications. The comparative analysis highlights the similarities and differences in naming conventions, reflecting broader linguistic patterns and cultural traditions. The research discusses how names function as identity markers, how they evolve over time, and the impact of external influences such as globalization and historical events. By analyzing contemporary and historical data, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of how human names in English and Uzbek serve as both linguistic units and cultural symbols.
