Abstract

This article investigates the presence, function, and adaptation of proverbs in contemporary English mass media, encompassing a diverse range of formats including news articles, opinion editorials, advertising campaigns, social media content, and digital entertainment. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes a substantial corpus of media texts to quantify the frequency of proverb usage and qualitatively examine their contextual application. It explores how proverbs contribute to audience engagement, persuasion, and the construction of meaning in the fast-paced and ever-evolving digital landscape.
