Abstract

This article explores the phenomenon of polysemy in verbs within the English and Uzbek languages, highlighting how a single verb can possess multiple meanings depending on context. The study aims to compare and contrast the mechanisms of polysemy in both languages, examining the linguistic, cultural, and contextual factors that contribute to this phenomenon.
