Abstract

This article explores the factors contributing to the rise of English as the global language, examining historical, technological, economic, and cultural influences. It discusses both the positive aspects of English’s dominance in global communication, such as increased access to information, and the challenges it poses to linguistic diversity and cultural identity. The article emphasizes the need for multilingualism and offers a critical perspective on English’s impact on non-English speaking societies. The role of English in shaping personal identity, global media, and international institutions is also highlighted.
