Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental component of English language learning, as it directly influences learners’ ability to communicate effectively. Traditional vocabulary teaching methods often rely on memorization and repetition, which may reduce students’ motivation and engagement. In contrast, interactive games offer an innovative and student-centered approach that promotes active participation, motivation, and meaningful learning. This article examines the role of interactive games in enhancing students’ vocabulary acquisition in English language learning. It discusses the theoretical foundations, types of interactive games, their pedagogical benefits, and their impact on students’ motivation, retention, and language competence. The study concludes that interactive games significantly improve vocabulary acquisition by creating an engaging learning environment, promoting collaboration, and enhancing long-term memory retention. The findings suggest that integrating interactive games into English language instruction can improve teaching effectiveness and students’ language proficiency.
